Inflation is causing trouble across the country. First it was tomatoes, ginger, and coriander, and now green chillies prices are also going up. The price of green chillies suddenly doubled from Rs 40 per kg to Rs 80-100 per kg in Delhi. In many places, the price of green chillies has even reached Rs 200 per kg. Tomatoes are also expensive, costing over Rs 100 per kg in every city, and up to Rs 150 per kg in some places. In Delhi, tomatoes are sold at wholesale for Rs 60-70 per kg and at retail for Rs 100-150 per kg. Due to crop damage from rainfall and supply issues, the retail price of tomatoes in Delhi-NCR has gone above Rs 150 per kg.

The price of ginger has also increased. It now costs Rs 240 per kg at wholesale and Rs 260-300 per kg at retail. Cumin prices have risen to Rs 500 per kg. The shortage of green chillies in the market is due to crop failure, according to vendors. Coriander is available for Rs 150-170 per kg.

The crops of tomatoes, green chillies, and green coriander have been damaged by rain, leading to a decrease in their availability in the market. Traders expect the prices of these vegetables to fall in the next 15 days. The rising prices of tomatoes and chillies have caused difficulties for households and affected the taste of food. Tomatoes, which usually cost between Rs 10 and Rs 15 per kg, are now close to Rs 150 per kg. The demand and supply gap has prevented a decrease in prices recently.
