Preparations are underway for the grand Brahmotsavam (Jatara) of Manyamkonda Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Swamy in Mahabubnagar. The event is scheduled to take place from February 7 to March 16. Mahabubnagar MLA, Yennam Srinivas Reddy, has instructed officials to ensure all arrangements are made to conduct the festival smoothly and with grandeur.
A preparatory meeting was held on Tuesday at the Integrated District Officers Complex. The meeting was chaired by MLA Srinivas Reddy, who was joined by SP D Janaki and Additional Collector (Local Bodies) Shivendra Pratap. Officials from various departments were present to review and discuss the arrangements.
The MLA highlighted the need to address key issues such as providing clean drinking water, proper sanitation, adequate toilets, parking facilities, crowd management, and security. He emphasized that these measures are essential to ensure the comfort and safety of the thousands of devotees expected to attend.
To streamline the preparations, officials have formed multiple committees to handle specific responsibilities. These committees will oversee tasks related to monitoring, sanitation, food distribution, finances, and law and order. Arrangements are also being made to deploy mini RTC buses to transport devotees to the hilltop temple. Officials have been instructed to ensure all vehicles are in good condition. Unauthorized stalls along the route will be removed to avoid any disruptions to the devotees’ movement.
The Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department has been assigned the task of installing barricades for better crowd control. Senior officials, including the District Collector and Additional Collector, will conduct field visits to monitor the progress of these arrangements.
Additional Collector Shivendra Pratap shared details about the key events of the Brahmotsavam. Highlights include the Garuda Vahana Seva and Rathotsavam on February 12, Maha Shivaratri celebrations on February 26, and Sri Ammavari Kalyanotsavam on March 14.
The meeting concluded with the unveiling of the Brahmotsavam poster, signaling the festival’s official preparations and the excitement surrounding the upcoming event.
