Ponnam urges Centre to halt Nyay Sanhita implementation and engage in dialogue with truck drivers

Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar has called on the Union Government to temporarily halt the implementation of the ‘Nyay Sanhita’ and engage in discussions with all parties concerned before implementing the proposed law. Prabhakar expressed concern about the truck drivers’ strike, which has resulted in a fuel shortage. He acknowledged the need for laws but emphasized the importance of addressing the inconvenience faced by common people. Prabhakar also criticized Union Minister G Kishan Reddy for not addressing these issues and urged the government to hold talks with the concerned parties.

Additionally, Prabhakar urged auto drivers in the State not to be influenced by the BRS party. He highlighted that there are various modes of transportation available, such as metro, Ola, and Rapido, and pointed out that their introduction did not cause any problems. He questioned why there would be an issue now and sympathized with auto drivers who feel that the free bus service for women is affecting their livelihood. Prabhakar demanded that the BRS party clarify their stance on the free bus service and invited them for discussions, assuring them a warm welcome at the secretariat.
