Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar participated in the 19th death anniversary event of late Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao in Vangara village, Hanumakonda district. During the event, Prabhakar paid tribute to PV’s statue and promised to discuss the creation of a new district in PV’s name. He also announced plans to name the highway from Medak to Elkaturthi after PV.

Prabhakar highlighted PV’s contributions, including the allocation of Rs 40,000 crore for rural development during his tenure as Prime Minister. He emphasized the importance of completing the PV Memorial Park and urged officials to expedite the remaining works.

Prabhakar praised PV for his efforts in implementing land reforms to benefit the poor, despite being a landlord himself. He stressed the significance of preserving the nation’s history in textbooks and visual forms for future generations.

The event was attended by CPI National Executive members Chada Venkata Reddy, former MLA Aligi Reddy Praveen Reddy, PV Madhan Mohan Rao, and Hanumakonda ZP Chairman Dr Sudhir Kumar.
