The district Collector, Valluri Kranti, met with leaders of all political parties at the IDOC office. She directed them to follow the rules of the Suvidha online portal, which is a one-stop solution for all permissions related to election expenses, meeting permissions, rallies, nominations, etc.
According to Kranti, candidates must obtain permission for door-to-door campaigns, loudspeakers, temporary platforms, and vehicles to be used in party rallies through the Suvidha online portal. She also emphasized that candidates should open a zero balance account specifically for their election expenses and record their expenses in a register. The expenses will be compared with the shadow register by the district electoral officer.
Kranti mentioned that campaigning on behalf of a candidate without prior permission can result in a case under section 171 H. Candidates will be disqualified if they engage in activities such as liquor or money distribution, and they will lose eligibility for future elections.
Apoorva Chauhan, the additional collector, explained that the election commission has introduced the Suvidha portal to facilitate permission for meetings and submission of nomination papers. All applications will be thoroughly scrutinized and permission will be issued within 48 hours. On the day of nomination, only three vehicles and five persons are allowed.
For any election-related matters, individuals must apply two days in advance through the Suvidha portal. The meeting at IDOC hall was attended by additional collector Cheerla Srinivas Sagar, RDO Chandrakala, C section superintendent Naresh, polling officials, and representatives of all political parties.
