Hyderabad, July 11 (Namaste Telangana): The government has informed the High Court that it is in the process of installing CCTV cameras in all police stations across the state. It was revealed that there are a total of 774 police stations in the state, out of which 399 stations have already been equipped with CCTV cameras. The permission to install CCTV cameras in another 103 stations has been approved.
Alleging that some police personnel are improperly conducting themselves in certain police stations where there are no CCTV cameras, a petition was filed with the High Court. Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Justice Tukaramji Dharmadhikari heard the petition on Tuesday and directed the government to respond to the plea. The hearing on the matter is still ongoing.
