Over 300 students, along with faculty members and others, attended the session. The primary goal was to educate young minds about various challenges they may face, especially in today’s digital era. The programme aimed to empower students with knowledge and practical advice to handle these issues effectively.

North Zone DCP, S. Rashmi Perumal, spoke about the influence of social media on youth. She highlighted both its positive and negative aspects, urging students to use it responsibly. Key points discussed included managing screen time, avoiding harmful content, and being cautious about oversharing personal information.

With cybercrimes on the rise, the DCP also educated students on online threats such as phishing, identity theft, and scams. She provided practical tips to help students identify suspicious activities and secure their online accounts, encouraging them to stay vigilant while sharing personal details.

The programme also addressed the growing drug menace among youth. Rashmi Perumal explained the dangers of drug abuse, including its impact on physical and mental health and the legal consequences of drug-related offenses. She advised students to seek help if needed and emphasised the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle.

In addition to these topics, the session included a discussion on personality development. Students were encouraged to build self-confidence, improve communication skills, and develop emotional intelligence. The DCP stressed the importance of cultivating positive habits, forming strong relationships, and focusing on academic and personal growth.

The event concluded with a recommendation to display key safety contact numbers in prominent places. These included the local SHO (Station House Officer), Sector SI (Sub-Inspector), and the emergency helpline Dial 100. This measure would ensure that citizens and business owners can quickly contact authorities in case of emergencies.

Through this interactive and informative session, the Hyderabad city police aimed to prepare students for the challenges of the modern world while encouraging them to make positive life choices.
