The Cyberabad Special Operation Team (SOT) and the Central Crime Station (CCS) of Rajendranagar, along with Shabad police, solved a murder case and arrested the accused, Thummalapally Narender from Vikarabad district. The police also recovered stolen property, froze a bank account, and retrieved a DVR.
On March 13, in Shabad town, a watchman named Ch Bikshapathi, who worked at Sri Durga Wines, was found dead in a pool of blood. The police discovered that there had been a theft at the premises. Immediately, the clues team, Chevella police, and local officers arrived at the scene to investigate the case.
During the investigation, the police learned that Bikshapathi used to sleep inside the permit room of the shop. On the night of March 12-13, Narender entered the compound of Sri Durga Wines by jumping over the rear wall using tools. When Bikshapathi heard a noise, he came out and confronted Narender. In response, Narender attacked him with a spade, hitting him on the head and killing him.
After committing the murder, Narender stole Bikshapathi’s mobile phone and some cash from his pocket. He then used a chisel and hammer to make a hole in the shop’s wall, entered the premises, and stole ₹40,000, a few liquor bottles, and a DVR before escaping.
On Friday, the police tracked down and arrested Narender at Sitarampur village in Shabad mandal. They recovered the stolen property from him. The investigation also revealed that Narender had been involved in four previous burglaries in Bahadurpura and Attapur police limits last year. Earlier this month, he had committed another theft at a wine shop in Nagarguda village of Shabad mandal.
