The Cyberabad police recently arrested two gangs involved in transporting a large amount of ganja and possessing firearms. They seized a pistol, ammunition, 1,228 kgs of dry ganja, mobile phones, and vehicles worth Rs 3 crore. Two cases were registered under the NDPS Act and Arms Act.
The Special Operations Team (SOT), Medchal Zone, along with Dundigal police, arrested four drug peddlers. The arrested individuals were from Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. Two other suspects are currently on the run.
The accused were involved in transporting ganja from Visakhapatnam to Solapur through Hyderabad. They sourced the ganja from a supplier in Andhra Pradesh and sold it to a receiver in Maharashtra.
The operation involved procuring weapons and rounds, collecting the ganja, and transporting it in a Mahindra XUV 500. The arrest took place on September 11, and the authorities seized vehicles and properties worth Rs 1,49,10,500.
In a separate operation, Narsingi police arrested two ganja suppliers and seized 720 kgs of ganja, a vehicle, and mobile phones worth Rs 1,64,00,000. The mastermind behind this operation was from Andhra Pradesh, and the ganja was being transported to Maharashtra.
The accused revealed that they purchased ganja at a lower price and sold it at a higher price.
