The Telangana Drugs Control Administration (DCA) discovered a large amount of fake unlicensed drugs being stocked for sale in Palakonda Village, Mahabubnagar district. The officials confiscated 36 types of medicines worth Rs 95,000.
Acting on reliable information, the DCA conducted a raid at the premises of S Murahari, who is practicing medicine without qualification and running a clinic called ‘New Life Care Clinic’ in Palakonda village. The officials found unauthorized stocks of medicines being sold without a drug license. They seized various medicines, including antibiotics, steroids, anti-ulcer drugs, and painkillers from him.
During the raid, the DCA officials also discovered higher generations of ‘antibiotic injections’ and ‘steroid injections’. Selling such drugs without proper qualification can have serious consequences for the health of people in rural areas, including the development of ‘antimicrobial resistance’.
Samples of the seized medicines will be analyzed and further investigation will be conducted. The law will be enforced against all those involved in this illegal activity. The raid was carried out by Assistant Director B Dinesh Kumar, drugs inspectors SkRabiya, and Mohd Rafi Shaik.
