Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force, South West Team, and Mangalhat police arrested five people for possessing dry ganja. The police seized 10 kg of ganja, which is worth Rs 3.10 lakh.
The arrested individuals are Mahender Singh, aged 26, from Dhoolpet; Suman Bai, aged 35, from Mangalhat; Amar Singh, aged 28, from Khatedan; and Bharath Alyana, aged 52, along with Padma Thula Alyana, aged 45, both from Odisha.
According to the police, Bharath and Padma, who are a couple from Odisha, were previously arrested by Khammam 1 Town Police in Andhra Pradesh for a similar ganja-related case. Mahender Singh became friends with Bharath and Padma through a mutual acquaintance. Later, Mahender, along with his sister-in-law Suman Bai and his brother Amar Singh, planned to start a ganja business in Hyderabad to make quick money.
The police stated that while Mahender, Suman, and Amar were receiving the ganja from Bharath and Padma in Dhoolpet, the Task Force team caught them in the act. The police then seized 10 kg of dry ganja from them.
A case has been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act of 1985.
