Prime Minister Modi to Virtually Open Charlapalli Railway Terminal
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the Charlapalli railway terminal on Monday. This new terminal is equipped with world-class facilities and is expected to ease the congestion at Hyderabad, Secunderabad, and Kacheguda railway stations.
Located near the Outer Ring Road (ORR), the Charlapalli terminal offers convenient access to commuters traveling from surrounding suburban areas. The station has been upgraded with two newly constructed foot-over-bridges for easier movement between platforms. It also includes modern amenities such as improved bathroom facilities, coach maintenance setups, and eco-friendly features like rainwater harvesting pits and solar panels.
The launch of this fourth passenger terminal will benefit over one lakh passengers daily. Starting January 8, the Chennai Central–Hyderabad Express (Train No. 12603/12604) will begin operations from Charlapalli.
Additionally, three more trains will originate and terminate at Charlapalli from Monday. These include the Secunderabad–Sirpur Kaghaznagar Express (Train No. 12757/12758), the Guntur–Secunderabad Express (Train No. 17201/17202), and the Secunderabad–Sirpur Kaghaznagar Express (Train No. 17233/17234).
From January 13, the Gorakhpur–Secunderabad Express (Train No. 12589/12590) will also start operating from this terminal. Previously, Secunderabad was the originating station for this train. In total, 50 trains are expected to originate from the Charlapalli terminal.
The virtual inauguration event will also see participation from various dignitaries, including Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, and Union Ministers G Kishan Reddy, V Somanna, and Bandi Sanjay Kumar. BJP leader and MP Eatala Rajender will also be present for the ceremony.
