The tragic incident occurred in Vrindavan, where a bus carrying the pilgrims caught fire. An elderly man, Silem Durupathi, was tragically burnt alive in the incident, and his last rites were performed in Vrindavan before the remaining pilgrims began their journey back home.

MLA Rama Rao Patel stepped in to arrange support for the affected pilgrims. He coordinated with the local government to ensure their safe return to Bhainsa. The Uttar Pradesh government provided Rs. 1,500 to each pilgrim to cover travel expenses. On Thursday evening, the group reached Bhainsa in two vehicles.

The emotional ordeal continued as the pilgrims visited the MLA’s residence. Overcome with grief, they recounted their narrow escape and expressed sorrow over losing one of their companions. They were in tears, and the MLA consoled them, reassuring them of his support during this difficult time.

The MLA’s residence became a gathering point for the pilgrims, their families, and relatives. The atmosphere was particularly heart-wrenching when Silem Durupathi’s wife, Ellavva, broke down, mourning the loss of her husband. Her inconsolable grief moved everyone present.

Food arrangements were made for the pilgrims at the MLA’s residence. The group expressed their gratitude to the MLA and the local authorities for their timely assistance. They shared that the district Collector, SP, local public representatives, and members of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) had provided them with food, shelter, and financial aid after the accident.

The pilgrims also thanked those who helped them arrange transportation and support following Durupathi’s funeral. They reflected on their survival with a mix of relief and sorrow, acknowledging that the outcome could have been far worse if everyone had been inside the bus at the time of the fire.
