Chintakunta Vijayaramana Rao, a former MLA and vice president of TPCC, visited the Peddapalli Agricultural Market and Kothapally IKP Center on Thursday to learn about the problems faced by farmers. He found that paddy brought by farmers had not been bought even after 30 days and rice mills were weighing 42.43 kg against government regulations, taking 2 to 5 kg of grain as wastage. Vijayaramana Rao accused the government and local MLA of ignoring farmers’ problems and cheating them.
Farmers reported that truck sheets were not given to them even after weighing their grain. Vijayaramana Rao immediately contacted the local DSO and asked him to ensure that truck sheets were given to farmers as soon as their grain was weighed. Otherwise, he warned that a dharna would be staged in front of the collector’s office with farmers under the leadership of the Congress party.
Congress Party leaders, including Town President Bhushnavena Suresh Goud, Mandal Party Presidents Kadarla Srinivas, Noogilla Mallaiah, Bhuthagadda Sampath, Netatla Kumar, Thoomula Subhash, Tandoori Sriman, Boddupalli Srinivas, Motam Ravinder, Katkuri Sudhakar Reddy, Peruka Santhosh, and Bandaru Sunil, were present during the programme.
