Hyderabad: Secunderabad railway station is seeing a big increase in passenger traffic as people travel to celebrate Diwali and Chhath Puja with their families. To manage the high demand, the South Central Railway (SCR) has made special arrangements to keep things running smoothly.
SCR has arranged 850 special train services to various places, which is more than the 620 special trains offered during the same time last year. To ensure safety and smooth operations, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and ticket-checking staff have been increased at important stations like Secunderabad and Hyderabad.
At Secunderabad station, 60 RPF staff and 20 ticket-checking personnel are working in shifts, 24 hours a day, to help passengers. Special attention is being given to managing crowds at the general coaches by setting up queue lines and making boarding easier. Senior DCM, Balaji Kiran, said that extra booking counters and new waiting halls have been opened to handle the large number of people. Temporary shelters have also been set up outside the station to provide more space for waiting passengers.
SCR has also asked passengers to be alert. If they see firecrackers or any other dangerous items that could be explosive or flammable, they should inform the nearest railway staff or call the security helpline at 139. This will help the railways take quick action to keep everyone safe.
