Parts of Hyderabad face parched conditions due to water shortage as summer reaches its peak

Groundwater levels are dropping in certain parts of Hyderabad, causing a water crisis. Some areas in the Southern and Western parts of the city are facing irregular water supply, with some areas getting water only once every five to ten days.

Despite efforts by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) to provide enough piped water, many neighborhoods are still experiencing severe water shortages. Residents in Nadeem Colony, Tolichowki, Nampally, Red Hills, Nizampet, and Asif Nagar have been without tap water for weeks and must rely on water tankers.

Locals have been complaining about the lack of tap water and irregular tanker deliveries. Despite numerous complaints to the Water Board officials, there has been no resolution to the problems. People are frustrated with the low pressure and the cancellation of tanker bookings, leading them to rely on private tankers for water.

Residents are upset about the inconsistent water supply and delays in getting water. Even after lodging complaints, they are not receiving a reliable supply. The Water Board claims they are working hard to provide enough water to customers through piped supply and tanker deliveries.

In a recent meeting, the Water Board mentioned that they are trying their best to supply enough water to residents and are providing tanker supplies as quickly as possible to those in need.
