Hyderabad: The Revenue Minister announced plans to make the Dharani portal more user-friendly and revamp the revenue department. The committee formed on Dharani proposed setting up a tribunal for land dispute resolution and consolidating important land laws into a single law.

Minister Srinivas Reddy met with Dharani Committee members at his office in Dr BR Ambedkar Secretariat. The committee examined the RoR Act in 18 States and suggested strengthening the Dharani portal created by the 2020 RoR Act. Changes will be made to ensure the portal is easily understandable for all users.

The Minister highlighted that many families in the State were facing land problems due to the previous government’s Dharani portal. Steps are being taken to address these issues and improve the system. A committee was set up to study problems arising from the portal’s implementation, and their recommendations were discussed in the meeting.

The Minister emphasized the need to solve land-related problems faced by families across the State. He mentioned visiting Khammam district and witnessing hundreds of families in each village dealing with land disputes. The government is prioritizing efforts to fix issues caused by the hasty implementation of the Dharani portal by the previous administration.

The Minister assured that steps are being taken to clean up the revenue system as promised during the election. The focus is on resolving problems created by the previous government’s rushed implementation of the Dharani portal.
