Pallavi Enclave Residents Seek Assistance from Mahbubnagar and Chevella MPs

Hyderabad: Residents of Pallavi Enclave in Guttala Begumpet, Serilingampally, are seeking help from Mahbubnagar MP DK Aruna and Chevella MP K Visweshwar Reddy. They are asking for support in a long-standing legal dispute over their land, which they claim feels like being ruled by “Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.”

The residents explained that they have been fighting a legal battle with the Waqf Board for over 30 years. They purchased their land after completing all necessary checks on revenue and records, using their hard-earned money to build homes. However, they now feel that their rights to the land are being held hostage.

In addition to reaching out to the MPs, the residents have also requested a meeting with the Joint Parliament Committee on the Waqf (Amendment Bill)-2024 to present their case.

When asked why they didn’t approach the Hyderabad MP, Asaduddin Owaisi, the residents explained that they believe Owaisi supports the Telangana Waqf Board without considering their side of the story. They feel that Owaisi’s political stance favors one group of people over others, making it difficult for them to present their issues to him.

According to sources, around 200 out of the 300 residents in Pallavi Enclave belong to the middle and upper-middle class. Some prominent figures from Tollywood, as well as politicians and officials, also reportedly own plots in the area. However, many of these individuals choose to stay silent, fearing their names might be entangled in political controversies.

As a result, the middle-class and upper-middle-class residents continue to struggle, moving from one authority to another in their attempt to secure their land ownership rights.
