Over 10,000 Students Absent or Caught Cheating in Telangana Intermediate Exams

The intermediate second-year exams in Telangana started on Thursday. However, more than 10,000 students did not attend the exam. Out of 4,52,028 registered students, only 4,40,513 appeared for the second language paper-II. The exams were conducted at 1,532 centers across the state.

Officials from the Telangana Board of Intermediate Education said the exams went smoothly in several districts, including Sangareddy, Medak, Jagtial, Bhongir, Rangareddy, and Medchal. However, there were four cases of malpractice. Three students in Jagtial and one in Nizamabad were caught with written materials. Flying squads and special observers identified and booked these students, who will now be barred from future exams.

Although the exams were conducted without major issues, students faced some difficulties. Many complained about the lack of basic facilities, such as wall clocks, which made it hard to track time. The bell, which was supposed to ring every half hour, was also not working. In some centers, students were not allowed to bring writing pads or water bottles. Additionally, poor infrastructure, including uncomfortable benches and chairs, made the exam experience even harder for them.
