Osmania University Strengthens Security Measures for Students and Staff
Osmania University Vice Chancellor, Professor Kumar Molugaram, held a review meeting on Tuesday with the university authorities and security personnel. The primary focus of the meeting was to ensure a peaceful and secure environment for students to continue their studies without disruptions.
During the discussion, Professor Kumar emphasized the importance of addressing the suggestions and concerns raised by students, teachers, and staff. He directed the university authorities to take appropriate actions based on their feedback to enhance the overall campus experience.
As part of the measures, the university has extended the closing time of its main gates by one hour. The gates will now close at 9:00 PM, allowing more flexibility for students and staff. Additionally, new security protocols have been introduced to strengthen campus safety.
In another significant move, Professor Kumar instructed security personnel to keep the gate near the Adikmet Bridge open 24/7. This decision aims to provide easier access for employees and students from various university departments, such as the OU Distance Education (PGRRCDE), Regional Institute of Urban and Environmental Studies (RCUES), Directorate of Admissions, NGO Home, Sanskrit Academy, EMRC Institutions, and others.
To further ensure safety, heavy transport and commercial vehicles will no longer be allowed to use the main road within the university premises. This step is expected to reduce traffic congestion and enhance security around the campus.
The new measures reflect the university’s commitment to creating a safe and conducive environment for education and research.
