Modern Facility for Osmania Hospital to Be Built
Hyderabad: Telangana is set to transform its healthcare sector with the construction of a new, modern facility for Osmania Hospital. The Telangana government has decided to replace the century-old structure, which has served patients from Telangana, undivided Andhra Pradesh, and neighboring states like Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Karnataka. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will officially begin the project by laying the foundation stone on Friday.

Relocation and New Features
Currently located in Afzalgunj, the hospital will be moved to Goshamahal Stadium. The new facility will be located on a 26-acre campus and will cover an area of 32 lakh square feet. It will have 2,000 beds and aims to match the standards of top corporate hospitals, providing advanced medical care to the public.

Designed for the Future
During a recent review meeting, CM Revanth Reddy emphasized the importance of designing the hospital to serve medical needs for the next 100 years. The new Osmania Hospital will feature multiple super-specialty departments, each equipped with its own operation theaters, post-operative wards, and ICU facilities. The ground floor will offer centralized diagnostic services, while advanced mortuary services and an organ transplantation unit will also be part of the facility.

Accessibility and Amenities
The new hospital will focus on accessibility and efficiency. Two underground parking floors will be constructed, along with wide internal roads for easy ambulance and fire engine movement. A fire station will also be set up nearby. To assist differently-abled individuals, ramps will be installed across the premises. Additional amenities will include dormitories, a canteen, and modern restrooms for patient attendants.
