Minister for Agriculture Tummala Nageswara Rao has instructed officials to make sure that farmers have enough seeds. He discussed this issue with officials and seed companies in a meeting at the Secretariat in Hyderabad. The Minister focused on the supply of quality seeds, especially cotton and maize, for the upcoming season. He directed the officials and companies to prioritize Telangana farmers and supply the remaining seeds to other states. They were also told to prevent the distribution of fake seeds and take strict action against those involved. Tummala stated that if farmers suffer losses due to fake seeds, the companies should compensate them. The meeting was attended by senior officials, representatives from seed institutes, and scientists from the Agricultural University.
