Odisha Boy Kidnapping Case Solved: Rachakonda Police Rescue Victim in Under 24 Hours

A young boy from Odisha who had been kidnapped was rescued by the Rachakonda Police within 24 hours of being reported missing. The incident happened on October 10, 2024, when the Komna Police in Odisha reached out to the Rachakonda Police for help in solving the case.

Rachakonda Police Commissioner Sri G Sudheer Babu, IPS, immediately ordered the formation of a special team. This team included members from the IT Cell, the Special Operations Team (SOT) Bhongir, and the local police from Bommalaramaram. Their goal was to find the boy, who had been kidnapped on September 29, 2024, by a woman named Padmini Maji from Lahandapali in Komna.

The boy’s father, Sri Arjun Bemal, had filed a complaint with the police, which led them to believe that the kidnappers had fled to the Rachakonda area. However, it was difficult to find their exact location. Acting quickly, the Rachakonda Police used technical tools and hard work to trace them to a brick kiln in Thumukunta village, Bommalaramaram Mandal.

On October 11, the police arrested the suspects, Duryodhan Bariha, 30, and Padmini Maji, 35, both laborers from Odisha. The boy was safely rescued and handed over to the Komna Police for further investigation.

This successful operation was carried out under the supervision of Rachakonda Police Commissioner Sri G Sudheer Babu, IPS. It also had the support of other top officials like DCP Bhongir Sri M Rajesh Chandra and DCP SOT-I Sri A Ramana Reddy. Their teamwork ensured the quick arrest of the kidnappers and the safe return of the child to his family, showing the dedication of the police to protecting the community.
