Nine sheep in Jagtial killed in an attack by stray dogs

The issue of stray dogs has become a serious concern for both humans and animals in Jagtial. Recently, there have been incidents where stray dogs have attacked and killed livestock. In one such incident, nine sheep were killed and a few others were injured in Muthyampet of Mallapur mandal.

According to the villagers, a shepherd had herded his sheep in a cattleshed on Monday night when a group of street dogs attacked the flock and killed nine of them. The local shepherds informed the mandal veterinary doctor, who visited the village and performed a panchnama. The shepherd community has appealed to the officials to provide compensation to the affected shepherd.

Similarly, on March 21, about 19 sheep were killed and four were injured in an attack by street dogs in Komatikondapur of Ibrahimpatnam mandal. According to local people, a shepherd had left the sheep in a shed on Sunday night when a group of street dogs attacked and killed 19 sheep.

The owner of the sheep informed the matter to animal husbandry officials, following which veterinary doctor Srinivas Reddy visited the spot and provided treatment to the injured sheep.

It is important to address the issue of stray dogs to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future. The concerned authorities should take necessary measures to control the population of stray dogs and ensure the safety of both humans and animals.
