The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has detained four more suspects in connection with the Rameshwaram Café blast in Bengaluru. The raids took place in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and other states.
In Anantapur, NIA officers raided the home of Abdul, a retired teacher, and detained his son Sohel, who is a software engineer in Bengaluru. Abdul, Sohel, and other family members were questioned after large sums of money were found in Sohel’s account. Sohel was taken to Raidurgam police station for further interrogation regarding potential links to terrorist organizations.
A Pune-based businessman with a history of offenses and a prior conviction in Karnataka was also detained in Vikarabad district. Currently residing in Nanded district, Maharashtra, he is involved in the fruit business. Additionally, raids were conducted at the residences of two doctors in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
These raids are part of the ongoing investigation into the Rameshwaram Café blast that occurred on ITPL Road, Whitefield, Bengaluru. The NIA did not provide details about the detentions made during these raids.
Earlier, on April 12, the NIA arrested two men – Mussavir Hussain Shazeb and Abdul Matheen Taha – who allegedly plotted and executed the blast. They were apprehended in Kanthi, East Midnapore district, West Bengal, following a joint operation by central agencies and police from West Bengal, Karnataka, Telangana, and Kerala.
