The Telangana government will start issuing new ration cards from March 30 to mark the beginning of the Telugu New Year, Ugadi. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is expected to personally launch this process.

On Tuesday, the Chief Minister finalized the design of the new ration card. He instructed officials to make it light blue in color. The card will also feature pictures of CM Revanth Reddy and Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy.

A special QR code will be included on the ration card for added security and convenience. Additionally, the government has decided to issue new cards even to those who already have them. Currently, there are 80 lakh ration cards in the state.
