New Arogya Mahila Clinic Unveiled at Former Khammam Municipal Office

The State government is focusing on women’s health by setting up Arogya Mahila clinics. The clinics aim to provide treatment to women who are unwell. District Collector VP Gautham, along with Mayor P Neeraja, inaugurated the Arogya Mahila Centre at the former municipal corporation office in Khammam.

Every Tuesday, the clinics will conduct screenings for women to help them manage their weight and prevent diseases such as cancer, breast cancer, micronutrient deficiencies, STIs, PCOD, and urinary tract infections. Currently, there are six Arogya Mahila facilities in the district, with 5,795 women enrolled and receiving care. Out of these, 790 women have been referred to other hospitals for further treatment. In the second phase, six more centres have been launched.

Qualified medical professionals will test and treat women at the clinics. Health experts will also raise awareness about the Arogya Mahila centres among women. Mayor Neeraja encourages women to utilize the centres and suggests placing signs at each centre to inform the public about them. Additionally, nine Arogya Mahila centres have been established in Kothagudem during the second phase.

District Collector Dr. Priyanka Ala officially opened the Arogya Mahila centre at the Aswapuram mandal headquarters in Kothagudem. In total, nine mandals now have Arogya Mahila centres, with five established in the first phase.
