New App Launched to Support Cotton Farmers

Khammam: The government has launched a new mobile app called “Whatsup” to help cotton farmers sell their crops more easily at Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) centres. This app aims to make the selling process smoother and more efficient for farmers.

In the old Khammam district, cotton is grown on about four lakh acres of land. To help farmers sell their cotton, the government has set up 10 CCI centres across the district. The new app will make the sale process at these centres easier by providing farmers with real-time information.

District Marketing Officer, MA Aleem, explained that the app was developed by One Software System Private Limited. It connects all marketing departments in the state. Farmers can access the app through the number 889728111 to enter their crop details and track loading and unloading activities at CCI centres.

Aleem also shared that the app provides important updates, such as information on loading, unloading, and cotton prices. These updates are available in three languages—Telugu, Hindi, and English. Farmers who are registered with the Department of Agriculture can use the app to get real-time updates from CCI centres.

He added that the app will help over 1,10,000 cotton farmers in Bhadradri Kothagudem district and more than 1,09,000 farmers in Khammam district. These farmers can now access important information from their homes, making the process much easier for them.
