On Saturday, the District Collector inaugurated an anemia blood test centre at Timmapur mandal in Karimnagar for the students of Vageswari College of Pharmacy as part of potion abhiyan. The aim of the initiative is to raise awareness about anemia and its effects on health and concentration. The Collector advised the students to be mindful of their daily food intake and habits, and to educate themselves and their families about the problem of anemia.
The district has already tested 2,3,0000 people for anemia, and those who have been diagnosed with the condition have been advised to increase their intake of iron and millet food. Depending on the severity of the problem, affected individuals should consult with a doctor and use appropriate medications.
The Collector emphasized the importance of understanding the impact of anemia on women’s health, and encouraged the students to educate their family members and other women about the issue. The programme was attended by District Welfare department officer Sabita Kumari, tehsildar Kanakaiah, medical officers, CDPOs, and students.
