Ticket Prices Increased at Hyderabad's Nehru Zoological Park
Visitors to Hyderabad’s Nehru Zoological Park will have to pay more for entry starting from March 1, 2025. The decision to increase ticket prices was made during the 13th Governing Body meeting of the Zoos and Parks Authority of Telangana.
Under the new pricing structure, adults will need to pay Rs 100 for entry, while children will be charged Rs 50. Previously, the zoo charged Rs 70 for adults and Rs 45 for children on weekdays. On weekends, the prices were Rs 80 for adults and Rs 55 for children. The price hike comes just before the summer holidays, a time when the zoo sees a rise in visitors.
Zoo authorities stated that the increased fees will help improve zoo maintenance, animal care, and the overall visitor experience. In addition to the entry fee, charges for various facilities inside the zoo have also been revised. The cost for carrying a still camera is now Rs 150, while professional video cameras will cost Rs 2,500. For commercial movie shooting, the fee has been raised to Rs 10,000.
The Safari Park ticket prices have also changed. A Non-AC bus ride will now cost Rs 100 per person, while an AC bus ride will be Rs 150 per person. Other attractions such as the toy train ride will now cost Rs 80 for adults and Rs 40 for children. The battery-operated vehicle (BOV) ride will now be Rs 120 for adults and Rs 70 for children. The exclusive BOVs, which can accommodate 11 or 14 people for one hour, will cost Rs 3,000 and Rs 4,000, respectively.
Parking charges at the zoo have also been revised. The new parking rates are Rs 10 for bicycles, Rs 30 for bikes, Rs 80 for autos, and Rs 100 for cars or jeeps. Tempos will be charged Rs 150, mini-buses Rs 200, and buses with more than 21 seats will have to pay Rs 300.
These changes aim to enhance the zoo’s facilities and provide a better experience for visitors while ensuring proper care for the animals.
