Hyderabad is celebrating National Science Day today at Rashtrapati Nilayam, Bolarum. The event features various sessions and competitions designed to spark scientific curiosity among students and the public.
The celebrations on Thursday were attended by distinguished guests, including Dr. Chintakagiri Mohan Rao, former Director of CCMB, and Dr. Sesikeran Boindala, former Director of the ICMR National Institute of Nutrition. Around 2,700 students from different schools and colleges took part in the event.
Dr. Chintakagiri Mohan Rao explained the Raman Effect and its importance in spectroscopy. Officials highlighted that a key attraction of the event was the Science Research and Development (R&D) exhibit. Leading institutions, such as the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD), showcased advancements in genetic disorder research, plant DNA fingerprinting methods, and technology incubation. The National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) also participated in the display.
Additionally, Vedika and the Deccan Heritage Academy Trust exhibited a diverse collection of books on science, technology, and heritage. These resources provided valuable knowledge for attendees, making the event both educational and engaging.
