National executive meetings of the BMS to be held in city for 3 days

Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) is a worker’s organization that focuses on improving conditions for workers. They have been working to ensure that workers receive fair wages and have submitted requests to the Prime Minister’s office for stricter enforcement of minimum wage laws.

The BMS will be holding a national executive meeting from March 29 to 31 at Rashtriya Education Center in Annojiguda, Ghatkesar. Representatives from 44 Federations of unorganized workers’ unions will be attending the meetings.

At a recent meeting with trade unions from G-20 countries, the BMS called for better implementation of minimum wage laws in the private sector and job security for workers. They have also protested against changes in pension schemes for public sector workers and privatization of public sector companies.

The BMS is pushing for an EPF pension of Rs 5,000 for unorganized sector workers and better safety and living standards for them. They are also urging the Telangana government to enforce minimum wage laws.

The BMS has successfully advocated for laws protecting migrant workers and is now seeking the creation of a welfare board for unorganized sector workers. They are also raising concerns about issues faced by journalists and seeking concessions like subsidized railway passes from the central government.
