Congress MLC Candidate Narender Reddy Claims Moral Victory Despite Election Loss
Karimnagar: Congress MLC candidate Alphores Narender Reddy stated that even though he technically lost the graduates’ MLC elections, he believes he won a moral victory. He said that the graduates supported him and voted for him.
Speaking at a media conference at his camp office on Thursday, Reddy mentioned that his defeat has only increased his responsibility. He promised to work more actively as a Congress supporter and contribute to the party’s growth.
He also said that he is ready to take on any responsibility given by the party’s high command to strengthen Congress. He pointed out that the Karimnagar Congress unit is facing leadership issues and vowed to help improve the party’s structure.
Reddy added that he will focus on ensuring that party workers and leaders collaborate effectively. He regretted that 11% of the votes, around 28,686, were declared invalid, which led to his defeat. He estimated that about 10,000 of those invalid votes could have been in his favor.
Despite opposition campaigns on social media, he said that graduates placed their trust in him. He reiterated that although he lost officially, he considers it a moral victory. Finally, he expressed gratitude to Congress workers, the Alphores family, leaders from CPI, CPM, TJS, various caste groups, and others who supported him during the elections.
