Water Supply Disruption in Narayanpet District
Water supply to 247 villages and two major towns in Narayanpet district will be disrupted for 24 hours. This interruption will begin at 6:00 PM on December 9 and last until 6:00 PM on December 10. The suspension is necessary for maintenance work to fix a pipeline leakage in the Mission Bhagiratha network near Kotha Tanda on the Marikal-Narayanpet route.
The areas affected include the mandals of Devarakadra, Narva, Marikal, Utkoor, Narayanpet, and Damaragidda, where water supply will stop completely. In addition, partial disruptions will occur in the mandals of Koukuntla, Chinnachintakunta, Makthal, and Danwada. Water supply will also be halted in the Makthal and Narayanpet municipalities.
Putta Venkat Reddy, the Executive Engineer of the Mission Bhagiratha Grid Division, explained the reason for the disruption. “We have identified a significant leakage in the pipeline, and replacing the damaged pipes is essential to ensure uninterrupted water supply in the future. While the repair work will take approximately 24 hours, we are committed to completing it on time,” he stated.
Residents are advised to store enough water in advance to meet their needs during the suspension. Authorities have assured the public that water supply will resume immediately after the repairs are completed. Residents are requested to cooperate and bear with the temporary inconvenience.
