Nara Lokesh predicts alliance will secure 160 MLA seats and 23 MP seats, expects public support

Nara Lokesh, the general secretary of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), expressed confidence in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) winning 160 Assembly seats and 23 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh. In an interview with NewsTAP, Lokesh mentioned that the TDP would continue to push for special category status for Andhra Pradesh and advocate for minority rights.

When asked about the alliance’s stance on Muslim reservation, Lokesh emphasized that the TDP would protect minority reservations in the state. He also clarified the party’s position on NPR, NRC, and CAA, stating that they would not negatively impact Muslims in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Regarding leadership within the alliance, Lokesh explained that Chandrababu Naidu is the Chief Ministerial face for the alliance in Andhra Pradesh. He highlighted the TDP’s history of nurturing leaders and promoting young talent within the party.

Lokesh addressed concerns about leaders switching parties within the alliance, emphasizing that candidates are chosen based on their ability to win elections. He underscored the TDP’s commitment to building strong leaders and continuing to support them.

In response to questions about family dynamics within the party, Lokesh made it clear that any differences were purely political and not personal. He stressed the importance of focusing on policy critiques rather than personal attacks.

When discussing special category status for Andhra Pradesh, Lokesh reaffirmed the TDP’s commitment to pursuing this designation and engaging in negotiations with the central government. He expressed confidence in the alliance’s electoral prospects, aiming for at least 160 Assembly seats and 23 MPs.

Lokesh dismissed predictions from other politicians about the election outcome, emphasizing the TDP’s track record and belief in receiving public support. He refrained from commenting on speculative statements from other leaders.
