Nara Bhuvaneswari, the wife of former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and the president of Telugu Desam Party (TDP), has started the TDP’s version of ‘Odarpu Yatra’ called ‘Nijam Gelavali’ bus yatra in Chandragiri, Tirupati district. The purpose of the Nijam Gelavali yatra is to console the families of those who lost their lives due to the illegal arrest of Naidu. According to TDP leaders, 105 people died of grief because they couldn’t bear Naidu’s arrest.
Bhuvaneswari began the bus yatra by paying tribute to her father and TDP founder Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) at Naravaripalle in Kuppam constituency. She then went to Bazar Street in Chandragiri to show her support to the family of A Praveen Reddy, who died on October 17 after Naidu’s arrest.
Praveen Reddy was a TDP sympathizer and an active member of the party’s social media team. Bhuvaneswari gave a cheque of Rs 3 lakh to Praveen Reddy’s family and promised to provide them with all the necessary support.
After that, she visited Nendragunta and comforted the family of TDP sympathizer K Chinnabba, who had a heart attack due to the shock of Naidu’s arrest on September 25. Bhuvaneswari also gave a cheque of Rs 3 lakh to Chinnabba’s family.
Bhuvaneswari will continue the yatra for three days in Tirupati and Chittoor districts.
