Nagar Kurnool: A two-day training program was held for agricultural extension officers from Nagarkurnool district on September 20 and 21. The event took place at Palem Rythu Vedika and was organized by Walamtari Hyderabad under the National Water Mission, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India.
During the training, key topics such as water conservation, water management on farmers’ fields, organic and natural farming, and micro-irrigation techniques were discussed. Mr. Subbarao, Deputy General Manager of Netafim Irrigation, shared important information about drip and sprinkler irrigation systems. Agriculture Engineer Mr. Girish also focused on methods for soil and water conservation.
Further, ADA Sunitha explained how to improve water usage efficiency and measure water properly. Agriculture Officer Annapurna provided valuable insights into natural and organic farming practices, along with techniques for conserving soil and water. Additionally, KVK scientist Shaila discussed crop protection and alternative cropping strategies for crops like paddy, cotton, and groundnut.
At the end of the training, the participating officers were awarded certificates. Several key officials, including District Agriculture Officers Chandrasekhar and Kanakaraju, ADA Poornachandra Reddy, Assistant Director of Agriculture Vasu, and extension officers from various mandals like Bijnapally, were in attendance.
