Hyderabad: The holy month of Ramzan has begun, bringing joy and excitement among Muslims. On the first day, many worshippers went to mosques like Mecca Masjid, Shahi Masjid Public Gardens, Jamia Masjid Chowk, and Azizia Masjid to focus on religious observances.

There was a heavy rush of faithful in mosques as Ramzan started. Special prayers called ‘Taraweeh’ were offered for the country’s prosperity and the well-being of the people.

Ramzan brings a sense of peace and harmony, filling everyone with love and gratitude. Many people expressed their gratitude for being able to pray together during this special month.

The first day of fasting was filled with excitement, from the predawn meal (Sehri) to the evening meal (Iftar). Some Muslims ate Sehri at home, while others went to restaurants. During Ramzan, many businesses stay open late to accommodate the needs of those fasting.

The city made arrangements to keep mosques clean and provide power and water for the increased number of worshippers during Ramzan. Special prayers were also offered for the country’s prosperity and the people’s well-being.

Despite the hot weather, markets were bustling with activity as people rushed to buy essentials before Iftar. Street food stalls selling fast food and special dishes like ‘Haleem’ were popular during this time. Muslims also fulfill other religious duties during Ramzan, such as giving charitable donations (Zakat).
