Muslim students in Telangana are worried about the overlap between the Telangana State Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams and the holy month of Ramzan. Many students have called on the Education Department to reconsider the exam schedule.
The SSC exams are planned to take place from March 21 to April 4, 2025. This period falls during the final days of Ramzan, which is expected to be observed from February 28 to March 29.
The students believe that the timetable should be adjusted to accommodate their religious practices. They have stated that balancing exam preparations while fasting and fulfilling religious obligations during the last ten days of Ramzan can be challenging.
“These examinations are very essential, and so are the last ten days of Ramzan for Muslims. Preparations while fasting and adhering to religious obligations would impact both aspects,” shared Misbah, a tenth-grade student.
Many hope the Education Department will take these concerns into account and revise the schedule accordingly.
