At least 21 people were killed by storms that produced dozens of tornadoes in the South and Midwest over the weekend. The storms caused destruction across eight states, including Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Iowa, and Ohio. The dead included seven people in Tennessee’s McNairy County, four in Wynne, Arkansas, three in Sullivan, Indiana, and four in Illinois. Other deaths were reported in Alabama and Mississippi. The storms caused widespread damage to homes and businesses, and left hundreds of thousands of homes without power. The storm system also caused wildfires in Oklahoma and blizzard conditions in the Upper Midwest.
