Multiple problems plague residents of Secunderabad Cantonment, seek solutions

Residents of Secunderabad Cantonment are facing several problems, including waterlogging, fallen trees, and an increase in mosquitoes due to heavy rainfall. The lack of an entomology wing and an emergency response team has made it difficult for officials to address these issues quickly. Residents have reported stagnant water and fallen branches, which pose health risks due to mosquito infestation. However, there is no centralized system for reporting such issues in the SCB, making it difficult for residents to report their concerns efficiently.

The president of Vasavi Nagar, T Satish Gupta, highlighted the challenges faced by residents due to the absence of a centralized mechanism. Complaints regarding open manholes took officials two weeks to address despite lodging a complaint. The SCB lacks an entomology wing to carry out fogging operations, leading to an increase in water-borne diseases reported in the past ten days. Ramesh, a resident, suggested that an emergency response team be deployed to address these issues promptly.

Proactive measures must be taken by the SCB to address sewage water flooding during heavy rainfall. Immediate action is necessary to improve living conditions for residents of the SCB.
