In a positive move, both Telugu states worked towards resolving issues related to the AP State Reorganisation Act 2014. The meeting aimed to prioritize pending issues and find solutions in a timely manner. It was acknowledged that not all issues could be resolved in one meeting.
During the two-hour meeting between AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy, various topics were discussed, including irrigation, power dues, asset sharing, and employee repatriation. Two committees will be formed within a week to address these issues. If consensus cannot be reached, a second committee with three ministers from each state will work on finding solutions.
The possible transfer of five villages under Bhadrachalam mandal from AP to Telangana was also discussed. The AP government expressed willingness to hand over the villages as they do not fall within the Polavaram project area. A coordination committee of police officers will also be formed to combat drug and cybercrime.
Before the meeting, both CMs met with officials to prepare for discussions. Naidu was welcomed by Telangana officials and later attended a dinner hosted by the Telangana CM.
