Over 60 Ayyappa devotees have been stranded at Shamshabad International Airport in Hyderabad since Sunday afternoon. This is because there was a technical problem with the Air India flight that was supposed to take them to Kochi. The airline was unable to arrange another flight for them by night, which led to protests.
Around 63 devotees were on their way for a pilgrimage, and their flight was scheduled to depart at 2:45 pm. However, due to the technical glitch, the flight was delayed and ultimately did not take off.
One of the stranded devotees expressed their frustration, saying that they were supposed to return the next day after completing their rituals. Now, they have been stuck at the airport for almost a day. Initially, the airline informed them that there would be a 2-hour delay, but the issue has not been resolved and no alternative arrangements have been made.
The issue gained attention after one of the devotees shared a video online. When The Hans India tried to contact Air India for clarification, they did not receive a response.
