A total of 4.03 lakh candidates will be taking the Group-1 prelims on June 9 in Telangana. The State government has set up 897 centers across 31 districts for the exam.
To ensure a smooth exam process, each district has an additional collector and a senior police official appointed as a ‘nodal officer’. Additionally, one ‘regional coordinator’ will oversee every 20 centers. The Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) has also hired ‘biometric invigilators’ and prepared extra equipment for the exam.
At a review meeting in the Secretariat, TGPSC chairman M Mahender Reddy told Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari that all necessary arrangements have been made. The Chief Secretary instructed district collectors and SPs to hold coordination meetings before the exam on Sunday.
Other topics discussed during the meeting included ensuring the availability of seeds and fertilizers as the monsoon season approaches. Santhi Kumari urged officials to prevent black marketing and hoarding of seeds by traders, and to educate farmers about avoiding fake seeds. Coordination between police, revenue, and agriculture departments was emphasized to ensure a smooth supply.
