The Moghalpura sports complex in Hyderabad was built for young people to play sports, but has become a dumping ground for the last few months. The complex also houses the GHMC circle-9 office. Despite many complaints from children who used to play there, the ground has not been cleared.
Residents of Moghalpura say that there are two grounds in the area, one full of garbage and the other full of debris. This means that people have no choice but to play on the main road, which is dangerous. The complex is also used for official purposes, but it is filled with construction debris and officers do not do anything about it.
The vice-president of TDP Minority cell, Mohammed Ahmed, said that most of the playgrounds in the Old City are neglected. Complaints have been made about debris being dumped on these grounds, but no action has been taken. The Moghalpura sports complex also houses the Charminar circle office.
Ahmed raised the issue on social media and the debris was removed, but it was dumped again the next day. He wants the civic body to take the issue seriously and impose fines on those who dump debris on the grounds.
