MLA Seethakka appeals to State and Central governments for assistance in flood-affected Mulugu

Heavy rains are causing problems in Telangana, with many projects, including the Kadem project, facing dangerous water levels. The heavy rains and floods are leading to the drowning of villages one after another. Warangal, which is one of the largest cities in Telangana, is experiencing flooding, with intersections turning into reservoirs and main roads becoming canals.

The torrential downpours have caused rivers to overflow, resulting in the complete submergence of low-lying areas. This has brought vehicular traffic to a standstill as roads are flooded. In the Warangal area, many bridges have been submerged due to the continuous heavy rainfall.

In Kondai village, located in the Mulugu district’s Eturu Nagaram mandal, the situation is dire as the entire village is engulfed by floodwater. MLA Seethakka, after inspecting the village’s condition, was moved to tears. She urgently appealed to both the Central and State Governments to rescue around 100 people who are stranded in the village and requested helicopter assistance. Some villagers have taken shelter in the Gram Panchayat office and are anxiously waiting for help.

The Ayyappaswamy temple at Bhadrakali temple has been flooded, and floodwater is flowing from the bridge of Hanumakonda-Warangal road. The underpass of the railway bridge in Warangal is also flooded. The Warangal-Khammam national highway is waterlogged, and heavy water has reached Kazipet railway station, almost knee-deep.

In Mylaram, a huge tree fell down, causing a large number of vehicles to get stuck. Mayor Gundu Sudharani has ordered officials to be on full alert as the District Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for two more days.
