Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to provide financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to minority communities with 100% subsidy in order to attract their support before the upcoming elections. This scheme aims to promote economic self-reliance among these communities, similar to the Backward Classes scheme. The State Minority Corporation will identify beneficiaries from the Muslim, Sikh, Buddhist, and Parsi communities, while the Christian Minority Corporation will assist eligible Christian beneficiaries. Chief Minister Rao stated that the government is dedicated to eliminating poverty across all castes and religions and is already providing support to deserving sections.

The government is committed to the development and welfare of all minority communities. Various schemes have been implemented in sectors such as education and employment to eradicate poverty and backwardness among minorities. These efforts have yielded positive results, according to the Chief Minister. Furthermore, the government will protect the diverse cultural and religious traditions by supporting all communities equally. In comparison to the previous united Andhra Pradesh government’s annual spending of only Rs 300 crore on minority welfare, the Telangana government has spent Rs 8,581 crore between June 2014 and January 2023. This demonstrates the government’s commitment to uplifting minority communities.
