Minister Urges THR Not to Politicize Food Poisoning Issue

Hyderabad: Panchayat Raj Minister Dhanasri Anasuya, also known as Seethakka, has denied the allegations made by BRS leader T Harish Rao regarding the recent food poisoning incident in Adilabad. Seethakka urged Rao not to politicize the issue, stating that her government responded quickly and took corrective measures.

In a press release during her tour of Maharashtra, Seethakka clarified the steps taken by the government. She emphasized that the victims received proper medical treatment. Seethakka personally coordinated with Asifabad Collector Venkatesh Dotre and ITDO PO Khushboo Gupta to ensure swift action, preventing any danger to the students. She also mentioned the introduction of a health monitoring app to prevent similar incidents in the future.

From the moment the incident occurred, ITDA PO Khushboo Gupta took steps to provide better medical treatment for the affected students. Seethakka said that NIMS Superintendent Satyanarayana has been closely monitoring the students’ health by staying in constant contact with the doctors. The Chief Minister’s office has also been keeping track of the students’ well-being. Initially, the students were treated at Mancherial Max Cure Hospital, but they were later moved to NIMS for more advanced care. The government fully covered the medical expenses, with bills totaling Rs 5 lakh. Local MLA Kova Lakshmi may have also provided financial assistance to some of the victims.

Seethakka explained that although she planned to visit the students in NIMS on Monday, she was unable to do so because they were in the ICU. The visit was postponed after doctors informed her that the students were recovering well, and there was no need for concern. Officials reassured her that they were closely monitoring the students’ health and treatment progress.

The Minister concluded by asking Harish Rao not to politicize the incident, especially when the government is doing everything possible to ensure the students receive the best medical care.
