Speaking to the media on Tuesday, the minister announced several major initiatives. A synthetic stadium is planned to be built on ten acres near Khammam Medical College. Additionally, a sculpture park will be developed at Lakaram Tankbund. He also revealed plans to construct a ropeway to Khammam Fort and a forest park in Velugumatla.

The minister said the Sitarama project would be expedited to boost development. Efforts are also being made to turn Khammam into an education hub. As part of this initiative, the foundation stone for Khammam Medical College will be laid in January. Furthermore, Kothagudem Engineering College is set to be upgraded into a mining university, and state-integrated schools are being planned.

To address flooding issues in the Munneru area of Khammam city, an underground drainage system and a concrete wall are under construction. Additionally, the foundation stone for the Manchukonda lift irrigation project in Raghunathapalem mandal will be laid on Sankranti day.

Tummala also highlighted plans to develop the Godavari waterway from Kaleshwaram to Polavaram. This project aims to enable low-cost transport of goods and boost the local economy.

The minister shared that a proposal has been sent to the central government for approval of a new airport at Kothagudem. He also mentioned plans for a railway line from Pandurangapuram to Sarapaka, which will help establish Bhadrachalam as the “Ayodhya of the South.”

As a special new year gift, Tummala announced that Rythu Bharosa aid would be distributed to farmers in January. These initiatives reflect his commitment to the district’s growth and development.
