The Roads and Buildings Minister of Hyderabad, Vemula Prashanth Reddy, recently visited the site of the 125-foot bronze statue of BR Ambedkar and museum that is being constructed on 11.5 acres next to the Hussain Sagar. During his visit, the Minister directed officials to expedite the work and complete it before the birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar on April 14, which the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is keen on.
The Minister inspected various aspects of the construction site, including the main statue, rock garden, landscape area plantation, main entrance, water fountain, sandstone works, granite flooring, lift works, stairs to the main statue, ramp works, audio visual room, and false ceiling. He made a few suggestions to the authorities and works agency to ensure that the construction is completed on time.
The Minister has directed officials to complete the work of the main statue by March 30, Entrance Lawn by March 28, Rock Garden work by April 1, and Plantation works by April 5. He has also asked them to increase manpower so that the works can be completed as per schedule.
Representatives of construction companies, architects, and R&B officials accompanied the Minister during his visit. The completion of this project will be a significant achievement for Hyderabad and will be a fitting tribute to BR Ambedkar’s legacy.
